Hey Everyone, I found this interesting community convert_me
and it seems like a really interesting community. I joined and posted a little bio so we'll see how it goes, eh?
|» discussion board|
Phantom/Graham has set up our official discussion board.
Go. Register. Post. Have at it.
I laid down some ground rules...be respectful, no harassing others and back up any facts with some citation. Other than that, go nuts.
|» Debate Panel Flyers|
Alright party people...we need to come up with some ideas for the debate panel next week. Here's the details I have for now.|
Where: TC100(unconfirmed...try to make it word or some other easily editable format in case we need to change it)
When: 9pm February 15th
What: Debate panel entitled "Ethics, Morals and where they come from"
Who: representatives from both academic and and religious backgrounds
Also mebbe we should put out some sort of jar/basket and accept donations at the panel? It would be a good way to maybe earn a few bucks and if we don't make any money, we're not out anything.
If you have any ideas, post them here and someone can make flyers or just post flyer designs and we can print them off at the the flyer meeting Wednesday at 9. Don't forget we're meeting in the public area of the library to print flyers and then we'll go distribute.

here's a quick review of how horrible this thing was:|

|» flyer ideas!|
I came up with a few flyer ideas. If someone could make a flyer incorporating these quotes, that would rock!|
Here are few great quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche:
A certain sense of cruelty towards oneself and others is Christian; hatred of those who think differently; the will to persecute. Hatred of mind, of pride, courage, freedom, libertinage of mind, is Christian; hatred of the sense, of the joy of the senses, of joy in general is Christian.
What else is love but understanding and rejoicing in the fact that another person lives, acts, and experiences otherwise than we do…?
The Christian resolution to find the world ugly and bad has made the world ugly and bad. -The Gay Science, section 130
I think the third one is the best. I think we should definitely try to use it in a flyer.
If anyone finds more quotes, post them here so we can all use them for tonight.
Is it faith to understand nothing, and merely submit your convictions implicitly to the Church?
If I were not an atheist, I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think he would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God, God, God, and whose every deed is foul, foul, foul.
"Christianity is the most ridiculous, the most absurd, and bloody religion that has ever infected the world"

Kind of a detailed flyer, it's two-sided.|
